It will ruin your computer.

The desktop version of DropBox is an absolute cancer. The automatic backup feature effectively acts as a virus on your computer and makes it unusable. I cannot access files that I saved to my own desktop because Dropbox has made my own desktop a mere illusion no matter how hard I try to avert it. I can't even access things I used when Dropbox was turned off. Avoid at all costs.

Dropbox paper is extremely simple and…

Dropbox paper is extremely simple and has great UI, all around very seamless and smooth experience. Not sure why people are complaining about 'non existent customer support' when I found the live chat function from a simple google search, tested it out to see if it was a bot, it wasn't, and I was connected to someone in under 10 seconds. I'm perfectly pleased so far on my 2TB plan!

No customer service and scam

Even with a paid service, they do not have live customer service, just bot replies. They disabled my account for no reason. I sup tin 6 service tickets and not replay for 12 days. The auto-reply said to use "Dropbox Community" to get help from one of their dropbox ambassadors. You can use the Community form unless you log in. So I have to create another account under another email and pay $120. On the community form, when I ask for help, explained what had happened, that I count no log on and have to pay again to try to get some help, the and then blocked me from community support for no reason except that they did not like the face I said something about paying twice. Do not use this service if your files are important. Luckily, I have my file on my computer hard drive or would have lost all my personal and business files. I have been paying for dropbox for 10 years and they have really gotten bad. Again, AVOID if you value your time and file!

Customer service non-existant

This software is great for file sharing and user permissions, but there is a complete lack of overall customer service.

DropBox Told me they would refund me and never did.

I canceled my DropBox account and was told no further charges would take place. I have proof, both emails and chat transcripts. They even told me if I was charged, I would be refunded.
Multiple charges from DropBox showed up after canceling.
I contacted DropBox and they said they couldn't see any charges and told me to contact Google.
Google told me they see the charges and to contact DropBox for a refund.
It's a never-ending circle. They keep blaming each other.
DropBox support is awful. They ask a ton of questions and then pass me off to someone else who will ask the same questions and the cycle just repeats itself. It's insanely frustrating.
DropBox would rather blame Google, who processed the payment, instead of refunding me. How are the employees working there looking at this situation and thinking, "He canceled his service and was charged over and over afterwards, lets no refund anything, yep that seems right to me!"

RIP OFF IS RIGHT

I naively ordered Pro for a year, little did I know they kept my credit card info and recharged me for a second year. When I noticed the charge and I complained to them, they basically said it sucks to be you... Stay away from these scam artists. It costs them nothing to cancel the second year and credit your account.

F*** this!!!

F*** this!!!! Its infuriating!! Stay far away. It just slows down your computer by constantly uploading anything without a prompt or permission. There is no way to acess the setting for this that I can find before they scan your entire computer and then ask you for money.

They are scammers. No means of contacting them and they just keep taking money out of my account. Do not sign up.

Drop Box charge scam by Drop Box

Drop Box will be history. They are corrupt. Their practice, of charging you 12 months and 3 licences, rather than the one licence and or 3 licences and explaining that it's the minimum amount and declaring the full amount upfront is amazing. It's then impossible to speak to anyone and it's impossible to get a refund.
So when you cancel they then delete all your data, which you have had on the basic service. The cancellation then confirms you won't be charged in 12 months time, but they won't refund you. The refund page on their site just won't connect, the chat box cant deal with it and the automated call services to get someone to call is the same. You receive an automated call, you are put on hold for 10 minutes and cut off. You then receive an email stating they couldn't hear you. I've used landline and two different mobiles. So it's their avoidance strategy. Of course there is information on Google about it. I should of looked and checked first. So Be Aware .

False advertising scum! They do not support Linux and they extort you to their paid product

False advertising scum! They do not support Linux and they extort you to their paid product. I wasted no little amount of time trying to help them get their Linux version working only to have them tell me that they are not going to bother fixing it. These people are the scum of the Earth. Don't start with them and you won't be stuck with them.

Premium to access a shared file? WHY?

A friend has shared a file with me on Dropbox which is 7GB and due to their stupid policy, it doesn't allow me to access the file. It says I need to upgrade my account to the 2,000GB version to be able to access the folder as I've not got enough space. As an IT professional, I find this disgraceful. Accessing a file doesn't mean you have to double the space it takes. As my friend already has a Premium Dropbox, why should I PAY to access a file that HE SHARED.

They keep your data hostage, not easy to get it back once it is in their hands

Dropbox makes it almost impossible to retrieve your uploaded files, especially if they are large. It is as if they are deliberately holding your data hostage, so you don't drop them. That seems to be their business model.

They don't tell you the size of your all your folders (only each on individually, one at a time)nso it is practically impossible to organize your folders by size to see which can be removed from the cloud.

You cannot even do something as simple and basic as print out a list of the folders and files you have uploaded.

When you unsync a file that is only online it does not download the data again back to your computer. Only the list of folders and files becomes visible in your computer, but the data still stays online.

They put unrealistically small limits on how much you can download, even with a paid plan.

Their whole approach is unintuitive and confusing.
